Women in STEM – Summer Intern at AEi

Event Highlights

• This summer, ASMPT AEi welcomed an ambitious high school student for an eight-week internship at our North Billerica facility. The program offered hands-on exposure to multiple disciplines, including mechanical, tooling, and electrical engineering. From assisting with prototype unit builds and CAD file reviews to supporting jig design and electrical cable preparation, the student gained experience across a range of engineering functions.
• Beyond technical projects, the internship emphasized professional growth and mentorship. The student engaged in subsystem verification testing, prepared work instructions, and contributed to test report drafting. A highlight of the experience was learning to program robotics on the production line—a challenge she embraced with great enthusiasm, supported by the encouragement and guidance of our dedicated team members.

This internship reflects our strong commitment to diversity, inclusion, and the advancement of women in engineering. In partnership with initiatives such as Massachusetts’ MassRobotics program, which encourages high school students to pursue STEM pathways, we are glad to help nurture future innovators and leaders in technology.
